Cairo University making great progress in field of international and local accreditation and government excellence

    Cairo University President, Dr. Mohamed Othman Elkhosht, received a report from Cairo University Center for Education Quality Assurance and Accreditation, on the position of the university’s faculties, institutes, and programs regarding local and international accreditation, and the ISO certificates obtained by the university’s laboratories, centers, and hospitals, within the framework of the qualitative shift achieved by the university in international academic accreditation, and improving the quality of administrative performance in accordance with the strategic goals of the university as a fourth-generation smart global university that provides distinguished educational services, reflecting the success of the university in applying international standards of quality and the modern administrative system that has been adopted.

    The report indicated that 48 international management systems (ISO) certificates were obtained by the colleges, institutes and departments of the university, where 24 departments, centers, colleges and institutes obtained many systems management certificates, including the general secretariat of the university and 22 affiliated bodies that obtained a management system certificate. ISO 9001:2015 Quality, 9 ISO 14001:2015 Environment Management System Certification, ISO 45001:2018 Occupational Health and Safety System Certification, 6 ISO 21001:2018 Education Management System Certification, in addition to obtaining A number of entities have obtained the ISO 299990:2010 Education Services Evaluation System Certificate, the ISO 37001:2016 Anti-Bribery and Corruption Management System Certificate, and the ISO 22301:2018 Business Continuity Certificate.

    The report indicated that Cairo University centers, institutes, hospitals and colleges have 20 laboratories accredited by the National Accreditation Council (EGAC), 4 have ISO/IEC15189:2012 certification, and 16 have ISO/IEC17025:2017 certification.
    The report indicated that 7 colleges and programs have obtained international accreditation, including 3 colleges: Medicine, Agriculture and Physiotherapy. The College of Veterinary Medicine and Information is also taking procedures for institutional accreditation. Most of the steps for international accreditation of the two colleges were taken in 2022 and awaiting the final visit for international accreditation.
    The report also monitored academic programs that have been internationally accredited, as 4 programs in the College of Engineering obtained international accreditation, and the Colleges of Pharmacy, Mass Communication, and Nursing took the necessary procedures to have their programs accredited by international bodies. .

    The report also mentioned the position of colleges, institutes and their programs accredited locally and internationally, as 17 colleges have been accredited and renewed by the National Authority for Education Quality Assurance and Accreditation, and 3 new colleges have been accredited. The report monitored the 15 academic programs that were accredited locally in the College of Engineering, the College of Archeology, and the College of Commerce, and great strides were made to accredit the rest of the university`s programs.
    The report concluded that the university has 5 training centers accredited by the Central Agency for Organization and Administration and the Supreme Council of Universities, 3 of which follow the Faculty of Economics and Political Science, and a center affiliated with both: the Faculty of Postgraduate Statistical Studies and the Faculty of Mass Communication. These centers work in the areas of administrative training and digital transformation, training and testing on information technology and its applications. .
