Within the framework of the operations of replacing and renewing the infrastructure of Cairo University and its hospitals due to its obsolescence and in the context of keenness on the distinguished performance of the university, the operations to raise the efficiency of the infrastructure at the Specialized University Children’s Hospital “Abu Al-Rish Al-Japanese” were continued, without stopping the medical services in the hospital, where Dr. Mohamed Othman Al-Khosht, President Cairo University, the completion of the complete replacement and renovation of the hospital`s power plant.
He had directed the President of Cairo University, to draw up a development plan without compromising the services provided by the hospital to pediatric patients and in the shortest possible period of time so as not to disturb patients and their families; And to complete the implementation of the development plan as soon as possible to provide hospital services more efficiently than before

For her part, Dr. Manal Al-Masry, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, said that the president of the university supervised the development of the plan so that the hospital services would not stop even for one day, and directed the formation of a committee to manage the crisis and ensure the supply of all equipment and the operation of the medium electric current source for the new station to reach the final stage. To replace the old low-voltage panel and introduce the new panel before starting the implementation of the final stage, while coordinating the provision of all necessary basic services to patients from the pharmacy, laboratories, radiology, laundry, infection control and others. .

Dr. Rasha Jamal, director of the Japanese Children`s Hospital, said that the new plant has been successfully completed in full, at a total cost of about 25 million pounds. After supplying all supplies, including 3 transformers with a capacity of 1600 kVA instead of the capacity of the old transformers of 750 kVA, in addition to changing the two ring-connecting panels, the medium-voltage panel (distributor), and the low-voltage panel.
