The Supreme Council of Universities announced the results of the competition for the best environmentally friendly university, and Mansoura and Cairo Universities were at the forefront of the winners, as Mansoura University won the first place jointly with Cairo University, which achieved the same points, while Ain Shams University came in second place, and Assiut University ranked third, and won Beni Suef University was awarded an encouragement award in recognition of the efforts made to improve its performance in the field of environmental sustainability.

The competition aimed to encourage universities to adopt initiatives and projects that protect and preserve the environment, and promote environmental awareness among members of the university community and the surroundings.
