Egyptian President delivers speech at opening of presidential part of Climate Conference

    Yesterday, Monday, November 7, 2022, the activities of presidential part of the 27th World Climate Conference, held in Egypt, were launched.

    El-Sisi began his speech by welcoming all the parties participating in this important event, which Egypt is hosting for the first time, to discuss one of the most urgent issues in the world, the climate change. Today, it is seen in the hope of making decisions to change the future for the better and provide environmental conditions suitable for living, growth and work.

    The Egyptian President also made it clear that Sharm el-Sheikh summit is a real plan for implementation and not just pledges, as Egypt has already planned many steps over the course of a whole year to reduce emissions, transition to a green economy and preserve food and water, and these efforts came to protect current and future generations from environmental risks and threats.

    He concluded his speech with the need to start implementation and end the stage of pledges that had started a year ago represented in the Paris Agreement to preserve the environment, explaining the need to be decisive in taking all decisions and measures that would save energy, food and water and reduce environmental risks.

    In a humanitarian glimpse, His Excellency deviated from the main topic of the conference, appealing to the heads and leaders of the countries present to participate in stopping the Russian-Ukrainian war, which is considered the biggest threat to the economy of developing countries, including Egypt, and that these countries cost daily material losses against the background of this devastating war, declaring his full readiness to cooperate With the international community to stop this war
    .
