The Chinese delegation and United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres discussed climate change issues and exchanged views on adaptation, financing, technological support, and various issues for developing countries, on the sidelines of the COP27 conference in Sharm El-Sheikh.
And the Chinese news agency "Xinhua" reported today, Wednesday, that Guterres praised China`s accelerated green transformation and its efforts in developing renewable energy during his meeting with members of the Chinese delegation; They are the Special Representative of Chinese President XieZhenhua, the head of the Chinese delegation, Zhao Yingmin, and the Special Envoy for Climate Change, Xi Jinping.
Guterres expressed his hope that the Chinese delegation will continue to exert its influence during COP27 by strengthening communication and coordination with all parties, in order to find a convergence program to achieve significant progress in the climate conference.

It is worth noting that Egypt will host the 27th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP27), from 6-18 November 2022, which will be held in Sharm El-Sheikh, and represents an important opportunity to consider the effects of climate change in Africa and to implement what was stated in The 2015 Paris Agreement and the implementation of the recommendations of the 2021 Glasgow Conference; and mobilize collective action on climate change adaptation and mitigation actions.
110 heads of state and government are participating in the activities of the Conference of Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP27), along with 10 thousand civil society organizations, 26,500 representing official delegations and bodies, and 3,321 media professionals, with a total of 44,174 participants.
