On the sidelines of Climate Summit .. Higher Education concludes new research agreement with University of Marseille, France

    Dr. AymanAshour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, held a meeting with Renaud Muselier, President of Provence-Alpes-Côte d`Azur, and President of Southern France; To discuss mechanisms for enhancing means of cooperation between Egypt and the French region of Cote d’Azur in the field of higher education, on the sidelines of Egypt’s hosting of the Conference of Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change COP27, which will be held this November in Sharm El Sheikh, in the presence of Dr. Mansour Hassan, President of BeniSuef University And Dr. AbdulazizQanswa, President of Alexandria University, and Dr. Adel Mubarak, President of Menoufia University, and Dr. Gamal Sousse, President of Benha University, which was held at the Mediterranean Pavilion, which was held for the first time in the history of COP27.

    Ashour stressed the depth of relations between Egypt and France, pointing to the need to benefit from French expertise in the fields of higher education and scientific research, calling for more cooperation in priority areas.
    .

    The meeting dealt with discussing the possibility of concluding a cooperation protocol between the French University of Marseille and the University of Alexandria, and taking the necessary measures to conclude the agreement during the coming period, in addition to discussing mechanisms of scientific and cultural cooperation with the Library of Alexandria, in light of its international reputation at the cultural and scientific level, and what it contains of Mothers of books in various fields.
    During the meeting, Dr. Ashour reviewed the experience of higher education and scientific research in Egypt, and the developments and successes witnessed in the current stage, both in the field of providing education, through the establishment of many private and technological universities, stressing Egypt`s interest in scientific research and linking it with industry to support the national economy.
    The minister pointed to the success of investment in the field of education in Egypt, pointing to the importance of supporting international cooperation with universities abroad, which are now offering dual degrees to qualify students for the labor market, noting the remarkable success and progress of Egyptian universities in international rankings, stressing that there is a strategy aimed at upgrading higher education in Egypt at the academic, scientific and research levels locally, regionally and internationally
    .

    For his part, Muselier praised Egypt`s good organization of the conference currently being held in Sharm El-Sheikh and its impressive exit, which is an opportunity to discuss one of the issues of concern to the international community represented in climate change, especially in the Mediterranean region, which suffers from the impact of climate change, It requires the cooperation of all countries of the Mediterranean basin in particular to solve climate issues in the region. .
