Dr. Muhammad Othman Khasht, President of Cairo University, said that the simulation model includes 200 students and students are divided into groups and each group represents one of the countries participating in this conference and collects data Concerning climate change in this country and presented in the simulation model that will be presented during the conference. This simulation is being done for cooperation between the Cairo University, the Ministry of Environment and the Economic Government Project of the United States Agency for International Development.

Dr.Al-Kosht, refers to the Cairo University’s keenness to present many simulation models, with the aim of graduating qualified elements to participate in various aspects of working life, and preparing a second row of university students to be future leaders، Where these models are an important activity for students and a training project on simulating the models of several institutions in addition to theoretical study so that they can be creative in the field of these institutions.

on his part، Dr. Mahmoud Al-Saeed, Dean of the College of Economics and Political Science and Moderator of the model, said that training for students on the simulation model "COP27" has begun" Through several measures, including theoretical lectures on climate change, training in some skills such as effective presentation skills, and working through a team، And how to collect data on the countries that are represented to prepare a new generation capable of interacting with future challenges.

It is worth noting that Cairo University contributed to the climate issue in conjunction with Egypt hosting the Cop27 Climate Conference, where it cooperated with the Ministry of Environment and the World Bank and developed new programs in the field of environmental sciences، In addition to funding a research project to mitigate climate change in cooperation with the University of Lancaster to replace fossil fuels with biofuels to control climate emergencies، The university also held seminars and workshops at the level of students in various colleges on climate change issues, and launched an invitation to Cairo University scholars to submit applied research projects to reduce climate change، A competition was launched for students of the final years to present research proposals to reduce climate change, a competition to prepare a protocol on environmental governance and its requirements, and to organize a major symposium on the role of universities and scientific research institutions in the success of the climate summit in Sharm El Sheikh.

The university established the Office of Development and Environmental Sustainability in 2021, which is the first of its kind in Egyptian universities, to include sustainability in curricula, research and community service, and issued a guide for sustainable life for the university student، She organized many seminars and workshops, and recently participated in the activities of the University Activities Forum to address the impacts of climate change, with 3 scientific research and 5 simulation models for scientific research outputs، It organized an exhibition of ideas for scientific research projects to raise awareness of climate challenges, and trained 200 students to prepare a simulation model for the Conference of the States Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change in cooperation with the United States Agency for International Development، It signed a cooperation protocol with the Ministry of Environment and the World Bank to establish the first university programs for environmental sciences in Africa and the Middle East, and also developed programs for environmental science and technology, environmental sciences and natural resource management, to address environmental problems and climate change، A major symposium was organized on the role of universities and scientific research institutions in the success of the Sharm el-Sheikh Summit COP 27.
