Cairo University participates in the 2022 climate conference

    Cairo University will participate in the activities of climate conference 2022 through a plan for confronting the damages of climate change on 8 November, providing a simulation model for the outputs of the project "Separation and Bio-transformation of agricultural residues and agricultural industries to produce products of economic value". The project offers technological solutions for the safe use of organic waste from agricultural consumption by producing high-value products by using technologies that do not cause any harm to the environment during the production and operation stages, thus helping to reduce the harmful emissions resulting from the insecure disposal of direct burning For these wastes. .

    Cairo university will present a workshop on its role in confronting the risks of climate change, as well as a presentation on scientific research related to the issue of climate change that was presented at the forum of the governmental universities for confronting climate change. Dr. Mohamed Al-Khasht, President of Cairo University, and Dr. Mohamed Sami Abdel-Sadiq, Vice-President of the University for Community Service and Environment Development Affairs, will participate in discussing solutions to combat climate change and how to adapt to it.

    Cairo university is pursuing a different strategy to adapt to technological advances with a view to becoming a fourth generation university that focuses on the environmental dimension, confirming the role of the university in many development axes, and the university`s educational and research plan is in keeping with the vision of Egypt 2030.
    .

    The university signed a cooperation protocol with the Ministry of Environment and the World Bank to set up the first university programs for environmental sciences in Africa and the Middle East, as well as the two programs of environment science and technology, environmental sciences and natural resources management to face environmental problems and climate change, and organized a major symposium on the role of universities and scientific research institutions in making Sharm El-Sheikh summit a success.

    It also launched an initiative for students of the final years in the faculties of engineering, agriculture, medicine and science to present research proposals and graduation projects on climate change, and called on Cairo University scientists to offer applied research projects to curb climate change with a self-financing of one million pounds for the winning projects. A call was made at the level of universities and research institutions to prepare a protocol on environmental governance and its requirements and to allocate a prize of 100 thousand pounds.
