    Under the auspices of Dr. Mohamed Elkhosht, Cairo University participates in the COP 27 climate summit, with an action plan to confront climate change on November 8, and presents a simulation model for the outputs of the project “Separation and Biological Transformation of Agricultural Waste and Agro-industries to Produce Products of Economic Value” and the winner among the top 10 projects It was selected in the Public Universities Forum to confront climate change, where the project provides technological solutions for the safe use of organic waste of agricultural origin to produce products of high economic value through techniques that do not cause any environmental damage during the production and operation stages, which contributes to reducing harmful emissions as a result of unsafe disposal by burning direct to these wastes. .

    During the conference, the university will hold a workshop on its role in confronting climate changes and presents a detailed presentation of the outputs of scientific research and applied projects related to climate change issues that were presented at the Public Universities Forum to confront climate change.
    The participation of Cairo University in the activities of the Climate Summit, in the presence of Dr. Mohamed Othman Elkhosht, President of the University, and Dr. Mohamed Sami Abdel Sadek, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, to discuss innovative solutions to face the challenges of climate change and its various effects on the environment and adaptation. .

    It is worth mentioning that Cairo University’s strategy 2021-2025 in the transition to fourth-generation universities focuses on the environmental dimension in order to consolidate the university’s role in many development axes, and the integration of the university’s educational and research plan with Egypt’s strategic vision 2030 and the sustainable development goals of the United Nations, and Cairo University was ranked 239 in the field of environmental impact within the QS Sustainability classification for the year 2022, and the university ranked 242 globally in the “UI Green Metric” global classification of green universities that are environmentally friendly. .
