Under the title "The Role of the Media in Enhancing Children`s Participation in Climate Action", a session was discussed on the World Youth Forum platform, with the participation of a group of speakers on children`s participation in climate action,; Hagar Jamil, radio and program presenter, Sarah Hassan, communication and media officer at Save the Children, Mohamed El-Shazly, broadcaster of the Good Morning program, and Mahmoud El-Saeed, announcer of Extra News.
During the discussion, the attendees discussed the role of the media in promoting children’s participation in climate action, stressing that the media has a major role in these issues, but the main function of the media is to communicate what decision-makers do to the public through programs of all kinds, and to make some simple artworks to attract the attention of the public. The session concluded with a recommendation to establish a children`s platform on television to educate children about the dangers of climate change.
