Dr. Hani Sweilem, Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation, met Miriam Daly, Minister of Energy, Projects and Sustainable Development of the State of Malta, on the sidelines of the climate conference.
During the meeting, the importance of enhancing joint cooperation between the two countries, especially in the fields of water and energy, and coordinating visions in all international and Euro-Mediterranean forums, was emphasized, especially in light of the similar challenges facing the two countries in the field of water.

The Maltese side also expressed its support and great interest in the adaptation initiative in the water sector launched by Egypt during the climate conference, especially in light of what Malta is facing from the effects of climate change.
It was agreed to continue communication between technicians from the two countries to put the final touches on the proposed memorandum of understanding for cooperation between the two countries in the field of water. .
