    Dr. Mahmoud Mohieldin, the climate pioneer of the COP 27 World Summit and the United Nations Special Envoy for Financing Development, and Major General Khaled Fouda, Governor of South Sinai, visited Cairo University`s pavilion in the Green Zone, to learn about the contributions of Cairo University in limiting and adapting to climate change.
    Visitors to the Cairo University pavilion listened to an explanation about the idea of ​​the participating project, its importance, and the solutions it offers through technologies that do not cause any environmental damage during the production and operation stages, which contributes to reducing harmful emissions. .

    It is worth noting that a number of senior visitors, led by ministers, officials, presidents of Egyptian universities and foreign delegations participating in the COP27 Climate Summit, flocked to the Cairo University exhibition within the Green Innovation Pavilion, which is being held in the Green Zone, under the auspices of Dr. Mohamed Othman Elkhosht, President of the University, and Dr. Mohamed Sami. Abdel Sadiq, as part of the university`s participation in the Cop27 Climate Summit, within the framework of the global trend and in light of Egypt`s Vision 2030, which includes interest in all aspects of sustainable development, on top of which is confronting the climate effects of climate change. .

    It is also noteworthy that Cairo University organized, in March 2022, the first symposium at the level of Egyptian universities by Dr. Mahmoud Mohieldin, the pioneer of the Egyptian climate, on the role of universities and scientific research institutions in the success of the Climate Summit in Sharm El-Sheikh, at the invitation of Dr. Muhammad Al-Khasht, who moderated the symposium, which dealt with several points. The most prominent of which is the importance of linking scientific research in the fields of environment and sustainable development on the one hand, and formulating public policies and influencing international action in the field of climate change on the other hand, as well as the importance of the role of universities in spreading knowledge and teaching climate issues and contributing to holding various events within the framework of the conference. .
