What you do not know about blue carbon .. The Egyptian hope to keep air clean
close

The planet Is experiencing serious climate changes that are affecting all living things on the planet, and this Is pushing us to look for ways to solve this crisis, so several countries, Including Egypt, have turned to blue carbon, to help save the planet.
Blue carbon, which Is called mangroves, is a type of tropical tree that grows on the coasts of the seas and oceans, and Is one of the most carbon-containing tree species, making It the most recommended tree species to plant to cope with environmental changes.
.
Benefits of mangroves:
Mangroves absorb huge amounts of carbon, which means getting rid of a large percentage of carbon dioxide found In the atmospheric air, which Is the main reason behind global warming, and producing a huge amount of oxygen, meaning that they help convert carbon dioxide into oxygen, and mangroves are the best types of plants that do this process.
Their presence on the coasts of the sea and the ocean also helps to solve another environmental problem, coastal erosion, as rising ocean levels increase coastal erosion by a large percentage every year, but the presence of these trees serves as natural buffers.
Egypt Grows Blue Carbon on Its Coasts:
In 2017, the Egyptian state focused on increasing the amount of mangroves planted on its coasts, as these trees grow naturally on the coast of the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aqaba, but after Egyptian efforts to Increase the proportion of these trees, they have already succeeded as we see them now, where they succeeded in planting about 600 additional acres.
