In conjunction with the International Breast Cancer Awareness Day, Cairo University launched, under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mohamed Othman ElKhosht, President of the University, and the supervision of Prof. Dr. Mohamed Sami Abdel Sadik, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development, a campaign to raise awareness of breast cancer for women and girls in the university community, in cooperation with Baheya Hospital for Early Detection and treatment of breast cancer.
Prof. Dr. Mohammad Al-Khosht said that the campaign aimed to raise awareness of breast cancer and means of prevention to limit its spread within the university community, by distributing awareness brochures and providing support to university female members and urging them to conduct periodic examinations.

Prof. Dr. Al-Khosht added that Cairo University is intensifying its efforts to raise awareness of the importance of early detection of breast cancer and means of preventing and treating it free of charge to limit its spread within the university, and provides the necessary support to raise awareness about it, and urge the necessary examinations and early treatment for it, as breast is cancer is considered one of the most common types of cancer among women all over the world, and early detection contributes to a rapid rise in cure rates.
For his part, Dr. Mohamed Sami Abdel Sadik, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, stated that the campaign provided information related to breast cancer to the largest number of faculty members, students and workers, as Cairo University believes that the health of every Egyptian is an essential part of society`s safety and stability.
