Cairo University Council held its monthly meeting in the presence of Prof. Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and Prof Dr. Mohammad Othman Al-Khosht, President of the University, in the presence of the Vice-Presidents of the University, the deans of the faculties and the Secretary-General of the University, to discuss a number of issues related to the educational, research and services process.
Dr. Ayman Ashour reviewed the features of the future vision for the development of higher education and scientific research and other important topics. The University Council, headed by Dr. Al-Khosht, expressed his happiness at the presence of Dr. Ayman Ashour and his vision for the development of higher education and scientific research.

Prof Dr. Mohammed Elkhosht, Chairman of Cairo University Council, praised the success of the university`s participation during the month of November in the activities of the COP 27 Climate Conference and Cairo ICT Conference and Exhibition.
Dr. Al-Khosht thanked the colleges on the occasion of the end of the first mid-semester exams, and their commitment to general rules and instructions. He also directed the necessity of early preparation for the first semester exams according to the time map, stressing the necessity of examining students in what has already been studied.
The university council praised the performance of many of the university`s sectors whose work was reviewed, such as Blended Learning Center and the Khartoum branch, and the general performance of centers, private units, and private funds. The university council also reviewed the implementation of maintenance and restoration work and raising the efficiency of many of the old university facilities.

Cairo University Council approved the university’s nominations for the state awards for the year 2022, which are awarded by the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology and the Supreme Council of Culture.
Dr. Elkhosht reviewed the milestones for the advancement and restructuring of Kasr Al-Aini Al-Fransawy Hospital, covering its needs to raise its efficiency, improve the level of health service in the hospital, develop it in stages, and cover the hospital`s needs in terms of infrastructure, equipment, and medical and service supplies.
The Council of Cairo University agreed to donate 10% of the salaries of the members of the Council for a month as a symbolic donation to contribute to the development of the Hospital according to the latest international health standards, for the advancement of the health system in Egypt.
