Cairo University organizes a celebration on occasion of International Day of Disabled Persons

    Under the auspices of Dr. Mohamed Othman Elkhosht, President of the University, and the supervision of Dr. Mohamed Sami Abdel Sadiq, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, Cairo University organized a celebration on the occasion of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, which included an art exhibition, handicrafts, and innovations for students with disabilities.
    The ceremony was attended by Dr. Jihan El-Manyawy, Disability File Officer at the University and Supervisor of the Services and Support Center for Persons with Disabilities, Dr. Tamer Mohamed Al-Saeed, Acting Director of the Services and Support Center for People with Disabilities, Dr. Iqbal Al-Samalouti, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Model Center for the Care and Guidance of the Blind, and Dr. Alaa Abdel Halim, Chairman of the Board of Directors The Egyptian Blind Association, and a large number of students of determination and their families.

    Dr. Mohamed Sami Abdel-Sadiq emphasized that Dr. Mohamed El-Khosht, President of Cairo University, was keen to revive the celebration of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities every year and to provide full support to university students with disabilities, pointing out that all students with disabilities are our children, stressing that the university does not view its students with disabilities as benevolent, but rather they are rights holders and have capabilities that the university works to highlight, thanking the students with disabilities and their families who were keen to stand behind their children and provided them with all forms of support and care .
    For her part, Dr. Jihan El Miniawy said that Cairo University is very keen to take care of its children with disabilities and provide them with all aspects of care, pointing out that the Center for Services and Support for Persons with Disabilities serves the internal and external community and is concerned with spreading the culture of inclusion to ensure the rights of students with disabilities such as access to any A place within the university, which provides them with all educational courses, and the right to participate in various student activities. .

    Dr. Tamer Muhammad Al-Saeed, Acting Director of the Center for Services and Support for Persons with Disabilities, explained that the center provides academic accessibility services to students, provides them with training courses for computer use, and organizes technical workshops to develop their various abilities, referring to the cooperation of the center with various parties within the university in order to reach the achievement of Equal opportunities for students with disabilities with other university students.
    Dr. Iqbal Al-Samalouti, Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Model Center for the Care and Guidance of the Blind, affirmed that Cairo University is not only a place to receive scientific research and education, but rather it is an energy of light for society as a whole, explaining that disability does not exist in the event of the availability of will and challenge, and this was confirmed by the distinguished works presented by the students, artistic and handicrafts and various innovations inside the exhibition.
