Red Sea Film Festival returns in its second round

    The Red Sea Film Festival launched its second session from December 1 to 10, 2022 under the slogan "Al cinema hayah", with a program of 131 films from 61 countries, in addition to dozens of seminars and meetings in an attempt to reserve a place on the map of international festivals.
    The festival received many international artists, such as Sharon Stone from the United States, Mariam Ozrli from Turkey, Alex Gonzales from Spain, Michel Moroni from Italy, Prianka Chopra from India, Lona Maya from Indonesia and Hussein Fahmi from Egypt.
    The program included a series of dialogs that gave guests a new opportunity to hear directors and actors talk about their cinematic life and benefit from their achievement. Naddin Labaki, Akkhai Kumar, Spaik Lee, Andrew Dominic, Fateh akin; Adel Al-Arabi, Bilal Falah, Kusar Bin Haniya, Nilli Karim, Mo Amer, and Ranbeer Kapoor; Antonio Banderas, Jasper Noi, Jaki Shan and Herethek Rochan.
    Al-Yousr Awards were distributed among 3 competitions, which are the Red Sea Competition for Feature Films, whose jury is chaired by Italian director Giuseppe Tornatore, along with Hind Sabry, Sherine Daibes, Daniela Michel and Abdel Aziz Al-Shalahi, and the Red Sea Short Film Competition headed by Marwan Hamed and the membership of Ahd Kamel and Khader Aidarous, and finally The Red Sea Interactive Film Competition, whose jury was chaired by Laurie Anderson, along with Victoria Maplebeck and Sarah Muhanna Abdali.
    On the other hand, the festival was honored at the opening ceremony of Indian actor Shah Rukh Khan, British director Jay Ritchie and the Egyptian actress yossra Al-Yousr Award For their "extraordinary contributions to the film industry", many female directors and artists were honored with the aim of emphasizing the direction of the Red Sea International Film Festival to celebrate the role of women in the film industry, where films signed by women directors constitute 38% of the festival`s total performances.
