Minister Of Higher Education Discusses Cooperation Mechanisms In Higher Education And Scientific Research Fields With Japanese JICA

    Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, received Mrs. Emoto Sachiko, First Vice President of the Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA), in the presence of Mr. Ueda Daisuke, Vice President of the Human Resources Development Department at JICA Tokyo, and Mr. Kato Ken, Head of the JICA Office in Egypt, and Dr. Hany Helal, Secretary General of the Egyptian-Japanese Education Partnership (EJEP), and Dr. Haitham Hamza, Head of the Central Administration for Missions and Cultural Representation at the Ministry, at the Ministry`s headquarters.
    At the beginning of the meeting, the minister affirmed the Egyptian government and people`s pride in the Egyptian-Japanese relations in various fields, especially educational, research and cultural fields, pointing to Egypt`s keenness to activate more aspects of cooperation with Japan, to benefit from the success of the Japanese experience, especially in the field of education.
    Dr. Ayman Ashour, praised partnership with Japan, especially in the Egyptian-Japanese Education Initiative Program, reviewing the experience of the Egyptian-Japanese University of Science and Technology (E-JUST), which is a fruitful model for cooperation between Egypt and Japan in the field of higher education, science and technology, stressing the Ministry`s keenness to support aspects of cooperation with Japan In various fields, especially higher education, training and scholarships.
    .

    For her part, the first vice president of JICA praised the Egyptian-Japanese relations, especially in the field of education, stressing Japan`s keenness on permanent communication and support for relations, especially in the education file because of its importance in building the human being.
    During the meeting, the two sides discussed aspects of cooperation between the Ministry and JICA in many distinguished projects in the field of higher education, including: the project of the Egyptian-Japanese University of Science and Technology, and the human cadres development project under the umbrella of the Egyptian-Japanese Partnership for Education, which is supervised by the Ministry of Higher Education in partnership with the Ministries of Health. And education, and the project includes training teachers and school principals and qualifying them to work in Egyptian-Japanese schools, training doctors and nurses, in addition to providing training scholarships for students and faculty members, as well as cooperation with the authority in providing Japanese scholarships for undergraduate and postgraduate students.

    The meeting discussed the project of transferring the Japanese experience in technical and technological education (KOSEN) to Egypt, where the minister referred to the priority given by the ministry to support new technological universities, within the framework of the state`s interest in technical education, stressing the importance of transferring Japanese experience in technical and technological education to Egypt, in a way that contributes to Graduating students who are qualified to work directly in the labor market, and have the skills and capabilities that qualify them to compete locally and internationally, as well as support and develop the Egyptian industry. .
