This year’s world cup is indeed the most unexpected world cup of all time. Starting with Saudi Arabia’s national team achieving a historic victory over Argentina in the biggest surprises of the World Cup, 2-1. Saudi Arabia stopped Argentina`s unbeaten streak after 36 matches After being one match away from breaking Italy`s national team record as the most team in history that won consecutive matches without defeat, which left the whole world speechless.
The Saudi people received the victory with great joy and started teasing Argentina’s fans by saying “where is Messi?”.
One of the most unexpected events that happened in this world cup is the Brazil losing in the quarter –finals. Brazil was the most expected country to win this world cup as that her national team is one of the most powerful teams of all time. Brazil`s performance in this year’s World Cup was honorable, in fact that before there loss against Croatia, they only lost one match against Cameroon.
Otherwise, they started with beating Serbia with score 2-0, then beating Switzerland with score 1-0 and of course their amazing match with South Korea with score 4-1, scoring their first 3 goals in the first 30 minutes of the match. But unfortunately, they lost their last match against Croatia in the penalties with score 4-2.
A lot of the players expressed their grief in Instagram posts, like the famous player ‘Neymar Jr’ posted an Instagram post saying: “lam psychologically destroyed. This was certainly the defeat that hurt me the most, which made me paralyzed for 10 minutes and right after I fell into non-stop crying. It`s gonna hurt for a loooong time, unfortunately. We fought until the end. That`s what I`m proud of my teammates because there was no lack of commitment and dedication. This group deserved it, we deserved it, BRAZIL deserved it.’
Moving on to the loss of Portugal in the quarter-finals, people were so sad that Portugal didn’t qualified for the semi-finals or in other words they were more sad that the world famous player ‘Cristiano Ronaldo’ didn’t qualified to the semi-finals in his last world cup.

    .

He expressed his grief saying: ‘Winning a World Cup for Portugal was the biggest and most ambitious dream of my career.I fought for it. I fought
اard for this dream. In the 5 appearances I scored in World Cups over 16 years, always by the side of great players and supported by millions of Portuguese, I gave my all. Leave it all out on the field. I never turned my face to the fight and I never gave up on that dream.
Sadly, yesterday the dream ended It`s not worth reacting to heat. I just want you all to know that much has been said, much has been written, much has been speculated, but my dedication to Portugal hasn`t changed for a moment. I was always one fighting for the objective of all and I would never turn my back on my colleagues and my country.”
Last but definitely not least, Morocco is making history by being the first Arab country that qualified for the semi-finals.
They didn’t lose a match during the world cup until now , they won against Belgium with score 2-0, they won against Canada with score 2-1, they won against Spain in the penalties with score 3-0, and of course Morocco beating Portugal with score 1-0.
The Moroccan national team received 9 million dollars as a result of participating in the group stage in the 2022 World Cup, and 17 million dollars after reaching the quarter-finals, and has now secured 25 million dollars by qualifying for the semi-finals of the World Cup Qatar 2022 from the International Federation of Football Associations (FIFA).
This reward is the largest received by an Arab team in the history of the World Cup, after FIFA decided to allocate the largest financial prizes ever during the Qatar World Cup finals.
