    The Unit for Combating Violence against Women at Cairo University, under the auspices of Dr. Muhammad Al-Khosht The closing ceremony of the activities of the 16-Day International Campaign to Eliminate Violence against Women, with an open dialogue, and a presentation of recording videos about the Unit for Combating Violence against Women at the university, and about the Youth for Development initiative, followed by a presentation of the first-place winners in the Youth for Development Initiative competition. And an Arab music concert on “Egyptian Women” for the Youth Choir of the General Authority for Culture Palaces, in the presence of Dr. Muhammad Othman Al-Khosht, President of the University, Dr. Ahmed Kamali, Deputy Minister of Planning and Economic Development, Dr. Muhammad Alaa, Director of the Human Rights Unit at the Ministry of Planning, and Dr. Amira Tawadros, Director of the Anti-Violence Unit. against women in the university.
    During his speech, Dr. Mohamed El-Khaoht, President of Cairo University, said that the closing ceremony of the 16-day campaign to combat violence against women is a starting point in order to continue the process of combating all forms of violence against women, men, or animals, stressing that the problem of violence has existed throughout human history from this moment. The first is the existence of man on earth and is continuous, and it is considered an abhorrent thing, just as violence is not only physical and material, but includes other forms such as verbal violence, hurting the feelings of others, and extortion, which was aided by social media.
    Dr. Muhammad Al-Khosht stressed the necessity of transcending violence into a more sophisticated and civilized language through various activities, and making efforts to find new paths through which to express different opinions, pointing to the inclusion of these principles in various aspects of life, such as the World Cup events, which should not be considered a sports competition. Rather, it is a refinement and development of the nature of competition, subject to specific competition controls that are adhered to and submitted to by all participants.

    The President of Cairo University explained that the role of the Anti-Violence Against Women Unit is not limited to raising awareness only, but includes many tracks such as investigations, providing multiple forms of psychological support and other methods that can be adopted, the most important of which is changing the way of thinking among individuals.
    Dr. Mohamed Al-Khosht praised the efforts of the Unit for Combating Violence against Women at Cairo University in integrating many artistic and sports activities within it, launching a new initiative to turn the unit into a unit to combat violence in all its individual, international and societal forms.
    Dr. Elkhosht expressed his happiness that Cairo University is a platform for the Ministry of Planning to launch the Youth for Development initiative, which is part of the Egyptian initiative, and aims to open dialogue channels with young people to present different visions, make research papers and present policies, stressing that youth represents the main player in Infrastructure industry and future visions.

    For her part, Dr. Amira Tawadros, Director of the Anti-Violence Unit, praised the continuous support provided by Dr. Muhammad Al-Khasht to the unit, its activities and needs.
    Dr. Tawadros explained the close relationship between human rights and women`s rights as human beings and must be empowered to obtain their rights, pointing out that Cairo University is the first university in Egypt and the Middle East to establish an official unit to combat violence against women, adding that the unit organizes many events including seminars, art and culture in order to communicate The message of unity, and participation in national projects such as the project for the development of the Egyptian family, in which women and their empowerment are considered a main focus in it, as it was the first university to participate in this project, in addition to the establishment of the city forum, which is the first of its kind in Egyptian universities.
