Cairo University actively participates in national, Arab, African and international initiatives

    Dr. Mohamed Othman Elkhosht, President of Cairo University, received a report on the university’s effective participation over the last 5 years in initiatives and events at all presidential, African, Arab and international levels, which contributes to supporting the community, developmental and service role of the university and its responsibilities towards society in its various sectors.
    The report reviewed the university`s participation in many national initiatives, including the "Decent Life" initiative to take care of the most needy groups and villages and provide them with a decent life by launching 87 comprehensive "medical, veterinary and specialized agricultural" development convoys for a number of governorates, and holding clothing exhibitions for students at nominal prices. And the establishment of a permanent headquarters within the university for a decent life initiative, and the “Building the Egyptian Man” initiative to present youth visions of how to build the Egyptian person socially, culturally, healthily, athletically, and educationally, and the “Egypt Industrialists” initiative to expand the base of owners of crafts and industries, in addition to the “100 Million Health” initiative through many Among the lectures to introduce the methods of infection and how to prevent them, and the initiative to "combine virus C" by launching campaigns for its early detection and about obesity and dwarfism, in addition to the initiative to "integrate people with special needs into society" by organizing many events.
    .

    The report indicated the contribution of Cairo University to many Arab initiatives, including the participation of 8 doctors from Kasr Al-Aini medicine professors within the Egyptian medical team to support the Lebanese people after the Beirut port accident, and the "in Arabic" initiative launched by the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation for Knowledge, to promote the Arabic language. And the call to adhere to its use, in addition to supporting the digital economy in the Arab countries within the framework of the "vision of the strategy of transformation to the digital economy in the Arab countries" in cooperation with the Council of Arab Economic Unity. .

    The report stated the university`s participation in African initiatives in conjunction with Egypt`s presidency of the African Union in 2019, the most important of which is the launch of the "1000 African Leaders Project", the first of its kind at the regional level, to which more than 5,000 young people from 34 African countries applied, and the "Africa Speaks" initiative. Arabic" with the aim of teaching 1,000 Africans the Arabic language, and an agreement with the Confederation of African Football to train students, in addition to transforming the Faculty of African Studies into an African house of expertise, and developing its role in supporting national orientations towards Africa. .
