Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, stressed that private and national universities represent an important tributary of higher education, which contributed to relieving pressure on public universities and accommodating the growing demand for higher education in Egypt.
The minister indicated that the number of new students in private and national universities, and the new eligibility emanating from public universities for the year 2022 amounted to (72,792) students, explaining the start of studies in 4 new private universities during the year 2022, namely: New Salhia University, which includes faculties: (Pharmacy, Administration and International Economics), Badr University in Assiut, which includes faculties: (physiotherapy, pharmacy, veterinary medicine, nursing, oral and dental medicine, law, and biotechnology), and the University of AlHaiyah, which includes the Faculty of Physical Therapy, Mayo University, includes faculties: (Politics, Economics, and Administration Business, Physiotherapy, Engineering).

Dr. Ayman Ashour, added that study have started in 7 new faculties in existing universities during the year 2022, which are faculties: (Physiotherapy at October University for Modern Sciences and Arts, Fine Arts at Al-Nahda University, Faculties of Fine Arts, Applied Arts, AlSun and Technical Languages at the Egyptian-Russian University, and Fine Arts at Giza University) and Nursing at Sphinx University, pointing to the issuance of two republican decisions to establish the Egyptian University in El Alamein, which includes 8 faculties, and the branch of Misr University for Science and Technology in Luxor, which includes 13 faculties. .

Dr Adel Abdel Ghaffar, the media advisor and official spokesperson for the Ministry, said the start of study during the year 2022 in 12 new private universities, namely: (Assiut National University, Mansoura National University, Beni Suef National University, Alexandria National University, Helwan National University, Zagazig National University, Banha National University, New Ismailia National University, Al-Wadi University Al-Jadeed Al-Ahlia, Menoufia Al-Ahlia, Al-Minya Al-Ahlia, East Port Said Al-Ahlia) in a number of programs, and the rest of the programs will be completed to start studying in these universities during the year 2023. .
