Cairo University is participating in the activities of the Cairo International Book Fair, in its 54th session, during the period from January 25 to February 6, 2023 at the Egypt International Exhibition Center in New Cairo.

Dr. Mohamed El-Khosht, President of Cairo University, explained that the university`s participation in the book fair includes a wide range of publications, studies and magazines, which represent a great addition to the movement of science, culture and thought. It comes within the framework of Cairo University’s project for scientific advancement and the development of the mind, and projects for the development of religious and national awareness, indicating that there is a great diversity in the fields of books and references that the university participates in this year in various types of human knowledge. .

Dr. Al-Khosht stressed the importance of free reading for young people because of the strength it represents in any society as strong nations are based on the shoulders of their youth armed with the power of science and knowledge, pointing out that reading increases young people’s understanding of their reality, helps them overcome difficulties, and contributes to refining their personality and advancing in a way their thinking.

For his part, Dr. Mohamed Sami Abdel Sadiq, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development and supervisor of the university`s participation in the exhibition, said that the university will participate in the exhibition with a pavilion that includes a large number of cultural books, scientific references and dictionaries that represent the university`s publications and a number of the university`s faculties and institutes and its centers, in addition to publishing specialized scientific journals for faculties, scientific departments, and research centers, to spread the message and thought of Cairo University and its scholars. .
