The Cairo International Book Fair received the first trip organized by the Egyptian Ministry of Culture, represented by the General Authority of Culture Palaces, headed by the artist Hisham Atwa, for families and children living in “alternative slums” housing, to the Cairo International Book Fair in its 54th session, in implementation of the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, by organizing human-building programs in housing projects, “an alternative to slums,” and working within an integrated government strategy to support them at all levels, where the book fair witnesses periodic visits from the cities of Asmarat, Ahalina 1, Ahalina 2, Rawdat Al Sayeda, and Al Khayala.

The book fair received the children of Ahalina 1, where an integrated artistic program was organized for them, which included artistic workshops, storytelling workshops and cultural competitions, in the wing dedicated to children, in hall “5”. The day concluded with an interactive dialogue on the positive behaviors of the child, and stories about the meanings of Honesty, trustworthiness, preserving the environment, love for the country and parents, through which they honestly expressed their dreams and future aspirations.

The book fair witnessed a number of artistic performances by talented people from the Asmarat Culture Palace, who presented many artistic performances in the fields of poetry recitation, acting, folk arts and skirting, music choir, and others. This is also the first time that our children from these areas are allowed to display their artistic creations, which they are trained in the palaces of culture, which have embraced them since they moved to their new, safe areas. .
