Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, announced the results of the global QS ranking report, as 14 Egyptian universities have been included in the British Quacquarelli Symonds, QS university rankings for the year 2023, and this classification includes the ranking of the best 1,500 universities in the world, and Egypt is still the highest represented among African countries in the QS World University Rankings for 2023, Egypt maintained its leading position in Africa with the highest representation in Africa with 14 universities out of 32 African universities that were ranked in 2023.

The classification witnessed that the American University in Cairo ranked (416) globally, Cairo University ranked (551-560), then Ain Shams University ranked (801-1000), followed by 3 universities in the ranking (1001-1200), which are universities (Alexandria - Assiut - Al-Mustaqbal), then 8 Egyptian universities ranked (1201-1400) and included (Al-Azhar, British, German, Helwan, Mansoura, Suez Canal, Tanta, Zagazig universities).

Dr. Adel Abdel Ghaffar, media advisor and official spokesperson for the Ministry, stated that the (QS) global classification is based on many criteria, including (academic reputation, ratio of professors to students, academic research, ratio of international professors, ratio of foreign students). .

The spokesperson added that the progress of Egyptian universities in the various international classifications is due to several measures taken during the last period, the most important of which are: the technical support provided by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to Egyptian universities, as well as training in international publishing, in addition to the incentives that universities are doing for researchers of all ages. Academic degrees for publication in prestigious international journals, and distinguished ratings for internationally published scientific research in the work of scientific promotion committees, providing information resources to researchers via the Internet, and cooperation with the Egyptian Knowledge Bank. .
