“Norway” is the guest of honor at 55th Cairo International Book Fair

    Dr. Nevine El-Kilani, the Egyptian Minister of Culture, announced the selection of “Norway” as the guest of honor at the Cairo International Book Fair in its upcoming 55th edition.
    Dr. Nevin Al-Kilani, Minister of Culture, witnessed the handing over of the “Guest of Honor Banner” from the “Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan”, the guest of honor of the current session, to “Norway”, and this came during the proceedings of the press conference, which was held in the “Guest of Honor” hall, on the closing day of the 54th session of the exhibition, in the presence of Amjad Adayleh, Ambassador of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in Cairo, and Dr. Ahmed Bahey El Din, President of the Egyptian General Book Authority.

    The Minister of Culture said that the exhibition this year had succeeded in presenting a different form than the previous sessions, adding that the participation of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in this year`s session as a guest of honor was a catalyst for progress towards more future partnerships in the cultural and artistic fields between the two sisters, Egypt and Jordan. And she thanked all those in charge of the exhibition, who played the biggest role in the exit of this version of the Cairo International Book Fair, in this way that establishes the value, strength and leadership of Egyptian culture. She also thanked the Ambassador of Jordan for the distinguished participation this year, and the Minister of Culture expressed her happiness for choosing Norway to be the guest of honor for the next session of the exhibition, with its unique and distinguished cultural and historical heritage.

    Hilda Klimtsdal, the Ambassador of Norway, expressed her happiness at choosing her country as the guest of honor at the Cairo International Book Fair in its next session, stressing that it is one of the largest book fairs around the world, and that Egypt has a unique history that made it the object of admiration of many Norwegians, adding that the Kingdom will From now on, preparations for a distinguished participation in the next session of the Cairo International Book Fair begin, to contribute to introducing the large Egyptian public to Norwegian culture and civilization. Preparation has actually begun through the presence of a Norwegian delegation to discuss expanding Egyptian-Norwegian cultural cooperation.

    For his part, the Jordanian Ambassador, Amjad Al-Adaileh, said: “I extend, in my name and on behalf of the Jordanian government, my deepest appreciation to the Egyptian leadership, government, and people for this generous hosting, and for the great role they played during the exhibition, which constitutes a global cultural event, in terms of the number of participating titles and the number of visitors.” He added that the Jordanian participation represented the mutual relations between the two countries, whose roots extend back decades, stressing that participation in the exhibition this year represents a special and deep experience that can be built upon and benefited from, and he explained that the Kingdom participated in this session with 10 thousand titles, 28 publishing house, 27 events, embodying the Jordanian heritage and culture, and stressed that Egypt is a pioneer in cultural work in the Arab region, and congratulated the Egyptian Minister of Culture on the success of this session.
    For his part, Dr. Ahmed Bahey El-Din confirmed that the Higher Committee of the Fair had chosen “Norway” to be the guest of honor of the upcoming 55th edition of the Cairo International Book Fair, due to its great presence in the global cultural scene, as well as its great cultural history, and as a continuation To open new horizons for cooperation and cultural exchange with many European and Arab countries.
