Minister of Higher Education meets French ambassador in Cairo to discuss joint cooperation

    Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, met Mr. Marc Paretti, Ambassador of France to Cairo, and his accompanying delegation; To discuss ways to support joint cooperation between the two countries in the fields of higher education and scientific research, and to find out the latest developments regarding the new French University project in Egypt, in the presence of Dr. Mohamed Samir Hamza, Acting Head of the Cultural Affairs and Missions Sector, and Dr. Salma Yousry, Advisor to the Minister for International Cooperation, in the presence of Dr. at the Ministry`s headquarters.

    At the beginning of the meeting, the minister stressed the depth of the historical relations between Egypt and France, especially in the fields of higher education and scientific research, reviewing the successful models of cooperation between the two countries, which reflect the bonds of friendship between them, including the signing of the agreement to re-establish the French University in Egypt, which is a pillar of cooperation. The Egyptian-French Academician, pointing to the interest of the Egyptian government in the French University, so that it becomes an academic model for joint universities, with a distinguished international classification, and granting double degrees; To be a destination for students from the Middle East and Africa.

    During the meeting, the minister valued the agreements signed between Egyptian universities and French universities; with the aim of exchanging students and faculty members, and granting joint academic degrees, pointing out that the ministry encourages these agreements; Because of its importance in supporting academic cooperation between the two countries, and exchanging experiences in various scientific fields. .

    During the meeting, the two sides discussed mechanisms of joint scientific cooperation between Egyptian and French universities, exchange of visits and scientific missions at the level of professors and students, granting double degrees in cooperation between Egyptian public universities and French universities, qualifying Egyptian students for the requirements of the labor market, and increasing the number of Egyptian students in French universities in majors. The various programs that are directly related to development programs in Egypt according to the scholarship plan in the Ministry, as well as following up the implementation of the Egypt House project in Paris, joint research projects, and benefiting from joint experiences in the field of higher education and scientific research.

    For his part, the French ambassador in Cairo expressed his country`s welcome to strengthen cooperation between the two countries in various fields, and support efforts and development plans in Egypt, especially in the fields of higher education and scientific research, praising Egypt`s major reforms and its steady pace in developing the higher education system. And scientific research during the last period, wishing success for the French University project, which supports the partnership between Egypt and France in the field of higher education, and that the university meets the needs of Egyptian, Arab and African students who wish to obtain an education of international quality. .
