    Dr. Elkhosht receives the delegation of the German AQAS Foundation for international accreditation of the Faculty of Mass Communication, Cairo University, as the first mass media faculty in Egypt to apply for international accreditation


    The German delegation commends the leadership of Cairo University, its global openness, and the progress it has made at the international level


    Dr.. Elkhosht: Cairo University is the first to establish scientific research in the field of media and is working to bridge the knowledge gap in various disciplines with the top ten universities in the world


    Dr.. Elkhosht stresses the importance of the technological and digital aspect in all faculties, and the university has succeeded ably in this field, and its handling during the Corona pandemic is a good example of this distinction.


    Reviewing the university`s most important trends towards fourth-generation universities by creating unique faculties that meet the needs of future jobs such as new energy, space science, artificial intelligence, robotics and nanotechnology


    Dr.. Elkhosht: Cairo University is among the top 100 international universities in five majors, and within 4 years it has provided 22% of the total scientific research production throughout its history and its scientific journals have achieved a prestigious position internationally


    The German delegation listened with interest to the vision of president of the university to develop the educational and research process at the university in light of the strategy of the fourth generation universities and the university`s keenness on qualitative privacy and benefiting from the elements of progress without losing any of the pillars of identity


    Dr. Mohamed Othman El-Khosht, President of Cairo University, received in his office the delegation of the AQAS Foundation for international accreditation of the Faculty of Mass Communication, in the presence of Dr. Hanan Gunaid, Dean of the Faculty of Mass Communication, and Dr. Heba El-Semary, former Dean of the Faculty of Mass Communication.


    The President of Cairo University affirmed that the Faculty of Mass Communication at Cairo University is a faculty that represents a guiding model for other faculties and is the basis for faculties of mass media in the Arab world and the Middle East, and has contributed to the establishment of many faculties of mass media in Egypt and the Arab world.

    Dr. Mohamed Al-Khosht explained that Cairo University is the first to lay the foundations of scientific research in the media field and is keen on continuous development to bridge the gap with the top ten universities in the world, pointing out that the university applies the critical thinking course to all faculties, which is extremely important for the students so that they have a critical mentality and can distinguish between what is real and what is false in the media field, in addition to the university`s project to develop the mind, change ways of thinking and establish a new religious discourse.. stressing the university`s keenness on qualitative privacy and benefiting from the elements of progress without losing any of the pillars of identity and privacy.

    The Egyptian and German sides stressed the importance of the technological and digital aspect, which is one of the challenges facing the media, and the two sides reviewed how Cairo University is advanced in the field of digital education at the level of all faculties, which appeared during the Corona pandemic through the use of distance education and exams on the Blackboard platform. University students are proficient in dealing with it and communicating with their professors.

    The President of Cairo University said that the university was keen to create many faculties to keep pace with future jobs, such as the Faculty of New and Renewable Energy Sciences, the Faculty of Space Science and Technology, and the Faculty of Robotics and Artificial Intelligence Applications, in addition to opening the first Faculty of Nanotechnology in the Middle East, due to the university’s aspiration and its quest to compete. With European and American universities.

    And it was reviewed how the university was able during the past 4 years to produce 22% of scientific research throughout its history, and became among the best 300 universities in the world according to the Dutch Leiden classification, indicating that 5 majors entered the top 100 universities according to the QS classification in pharmacy and pharmaceutical sciences. Civil Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, Dentistry, and Hospitality and Leisure Management Sciences.

    The Egyptian and German sides also dealt with the policies adopted by the university to motivate faculty members to publish internationally, including the development and establishment of new laboratories and an increase in rewards for scientific publication by 100%, stressing the university`s keenness to constantly review curricula similar to the top 10 universities in the world, and work on Bridging the knowledge gap, keeping pace with the fifth industrial revolution, and continuously developing scientific research.

    In addition to discussing how the university succeeded in bringing the university’s scientific journals to a prominent position at the local and international levels, such as the Cairo University Journal of Applied Sciences (JAR), which ranked eighth in the world, and became one of the classified journals in the largest advanced global databases such as Scopus, Clarvet, and Science magazine.

    The delegation of the AQAS Foundation for International Accreditation expressed their happiness at being inside the ancient Cairo University and their realization of the value of the university and its heritage, and getting acquainted with the Egyptian culture, and they praised the great progress made by the university within the various international classifications, and the delegation discussed with Dr. Mohamed Elkhosht about his vision for the development of education and scientific research Inside Cairo University and the policies he followed in order for the university to become among the most prestigious international universities.
