Egypt discusses joint cooperation with Lincoln University

    Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Mohamed Ashour, met with a delegation from Lincoln University on Monday, to discuss joint cooperation. The meeting comes in light of the ministry’s strategic plan to encourage cooperation between Egyptian universities and globally top ranked universities. During the meeting, the minister pointed out the outstanding progress witnessed by the Higher Education and the Scientific Research sectors, citing the numerous developments in governmental, private, technological, national, and international universities branches, in addition to the continuous development of educational curriculums.

    The Minister also expressed a strong desire to establish Branches of internationally prestigious foreign universities in Egypt, to provide better educational chances and contribute to the overall development of the educational and research sectors. Moreover, discussions between the two sides included 1) coordination strategies within different fields, especially in high priority fields contributing to the state’s sustainable development plan (Egypt’s 2030 vision), 2) benefitting from shared experiences in educational and research fields, specifically the ones related to linking higher education and scientific research with the needs of the industry sectors and the requirements of the labor market, as well as Lincoln university’s experience in promoting cooperation with partners in industrial institutions.

    On their part, the Lincoln university delegation praised the distinguished relations between Egypt and Britain, emphasizing the importance of continued cooperation in implementing joint scientific projects between the two countries and applauding the tremendous support offered by the Egyptian Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in regards of strengthening partnerships with international institutions, especially in the fields of public health, space, food security, tackling climate change, history, and heritage. .
