Ministry of Higher Education Participates in Annual Conference of Arab Universities Association in Tunisia

    Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, delivered a speech Today, during his participation in the General Conference of the Association of Arab Universities in its fifty-fifth session, which will be held from March 18 to 20, in the presence of Dr. Amr Ezzat Salama, Secretary General of the Association of Arab Universities, and ministers of higher education in the Arab countries, and Ambassador Ehab Fahmy, Ambassador of Egypt to the Republic of Tunisia, and a group of presidents of Arab universities.


    In his speech, the Minister of Higher Education expressed his happiness for his participation in the conference, thanking the Association of Arab Universities for organizing this conference, which reflects their commitment to strengthening cooperation and communication between Arab universities, and is an opportunity to exchange experiences and knowledge and define future plans for higher education in the Arab world.

    Dr. Ayman Ashour pointed out that the axis of digital transformation in the field of higher education has witnessed a profound transformation in the way we live, work and learn, as digital technologies enhance the research capabilities of higher education institutions by enabling researchers to access and analyze data, collaborate with colleagues remotely, and use Advanced tools and programs, help automate routine administrative tasks, help faculty and staff focus on strategic activities, and provide students with a more engaging learning experience such as online simulations, virtual laboratories, and multimedia content.

    He Added that Digital tools can also provide real-time data on the actual level of students, and their interests, which helps them identify areas in which they need additional support, as well as enabling researchers and educators to communicate with peers around the world, exchange knowledge and collaborate on research projects, to help generate new insights and discoveries, in addition to enable institutions to offer flexible educational and research opportunities, such as internships, online education, remote training, and virtual conferences, explaining that this can help institutions reach new audiences and provide opportunities for lifelong learning, provide valuable insights into student learning and research findings, and enable institutions to make data-driven decisions about designing educational programs and linking it to the labor market, research initiatives and strategic planning. .

    The minister explained that to meet the challenges of digital transformation in higher education and scientific research in the Arab countries, investment in digital infrastructure and the qualification of human resources from teachers, students and educational service providers must be made, as according to a report issued by the International Finance Corporation, investment in digital infrastructure is necessary for growth. The digital economy in the Arab countries, and this investment can include developing communication networks, providing affordable devices, and creating distinct digital content. Moreover, there is a need to increase cooperation between universities and research institutions in Arab countries to exchange best practices and knowledge about digital transformation, and develop Joint projects and exchange of staff and students between institutions.

    Dr. Ayman Ashour reviewed some of the initiatives undertaken by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to meet the challenges faced by higher education through digital solutions, including the project to establish electronic testing centers in all universities. .
