Dr. Hanan Gunaid Praises the Outstanding Level of Graduation Projects This Year during EMCCU Annual Festival

    Today, Tuesday morning, the activities of the first day of the Graduation Projects Festival for students of the English Language Section at the Faculty of Mass Communication, Cairo University, were launched under auspices of Prof. Dr. Hanan Gunaid, Dean of the Faculty of Mass Communication, and the supervision of Dr. Nermin Nabil Al-Azraq, head of the English section, and Prof. Dr. Samah Al-Mohammadi, vice head of the English section.


    At the beginning of the festival`s activities on its first day, Prof. Dr. Hanan Gunaid, welcomed the guests from media professionals, journalists, students and doctors who judged the projects. Dr. Hanan praised the level of distinguished graduation projects this year, and praised the effort made by the supervisors and students to come up with radio and video projects at a level that befits the Faculty of Mass Communication and its graduates, which reflects the level of the distinguished media student and the extent of his readiness to join the media labor market, and directed her advice to the new graduates to apply what they learned on the ground.


    Dr. Nermin Al-Azraq, Head of the English Section, began her speech by thanking Dr. Hanan Gunaid, Faculty Dean, for the constant support she provides to the English Section and its students, and providing all means for the completion of graduation projects and their exit at the high level that was praised by media professors and media professionals, which reflects the student`s ability to produce documentaries, radio programs, and marketing and awareness campaigns. “Be Confident, Be Proud of Yourself” Dr. Nermine addressed the fresh graduates. She also stressed that the students have a brilliant future ahead of them and that she is sure of the excellence of the students and graduates of the department in the labor market.


    Dr. Samah El-Mohammadi, Vice Head of the English Section, delivered a welcoming speech to the guests and attendees, and said that the students have now begun a new journey in their lives from the heart of the media industry in Egypt and the Arab world from the Faculty of Mass Communication, Cairo University, wishing them best of luck in their practical life.

    The festival began by honoring the guests of honor, on top of them Professor Dr. Laila Abdel-Maguid, Professor of Journalism and Academic Director of the Quality Unit at the Faculty of Mass Communication, Cairo University, due to her efforts in completing the international accreditation file and the faculty obtaining the international accreditation certificate from the German Accreditation Authority AQAS. During the honoring, Dr. Laila gave special thanks to the students of the English section for their prominent role in the success of the German accreditation visit and their role in receiving the delegation from the airport and accompanying them during the visit.


     On the sidelines of the honor, media professionals and journalists sent quick messages and advice to the students, Mr. Hisham Soliman Assistant Chairman for media production at UMS said that media practitioner must balance between working life and private life by giving enough time to the family, positions are fleeting, and the most important thing is for a person to be humble, and one must gain experience and increase skills, as a person is always learning through his working career.


    Mr. Khaled El-Balshy Head of the Egyptian Journalists Syndicate said that he is proud that he is a graduate of the Faculty of Mass Communication, Cairo University, and thanks the faculty for inviting him to attend the Graduation Projects Festival, and that he returned to the faculty after 29 years to witness the graduation of a new batch of faculty graduates. He stressed that the media graduates are capable of bringing about change and that there is hope amid the troubles of the profession and the difficulties of the profession. “Hello fellow graduates in the journalism profession, the profession of searching for trouble”, he added.


    TV Presenter Khaled Saad stressed that there are many opportunities ahead of fresh graduates in the media field, all media have integration, no medium has eliminated another medium, but on the contrary, the print press, radio, television and new digital media all work together. He said that the field is open to all media graduates.

    At the end Mr. Abdel Jawad Abo kap head of the media and digital transformation foundation, said that the level of students and graduates of the English Section is very distinguished and they have high skills, and this is what he felt himself during the training course that he gave to the students of the department on digital transformation. Indeed, he chose a number of students for training, including a student who became a photographer on his television program.


    Its noteworthy that the Annual Graduation Projects Festival this year is held on the course of two days 25th and 26th of july, and witnesses presentation of the projects of the Public Relations and Advertising Department, for the marketing Campaigns and awareness campaigns carried out by EMCCU students, as well as presentation of the graduation projects of the Radio and Television Department, which vary between documentaries of the Video Section and radio programs of the Radio Section made by EMCCU Students. These projects were supervised by the faculty lecturers and teaching assistants from the Radio and Television Department and the Department of Public Relations and Advertising at the Faculty.
