Cairo University President Mohamed Othman Elkhosht conducted a tour of the university campus on the occasion of the start of the new academic year, during which he inspected the university’s preparations to receive about 260 thousand students in its various faculties in the new academic year, where the university was decorated with flags and plaques guiding and welcoming students.
Dr. Muhammad Al-Khosht congratulated the academic community, old and new students, on the start of the new academic year, wishing them a successful academic year, explaining that the university administration prepared for the new academic year by launching many student events and activities in sports, culture, art and science, in addition to a great cultural and artistic season.
The President of Cairo University inspected the student activities exhibition held on the university campus, and held an open dialogue with the students, sending a message to the new students about the importance of practicing various student activities that develop their skills, stressing that the university aims to graduate good citizens capable of keeping pace with the needs of the labor market and participating in the process of sustainable development. He pointed out that the role of the university is not limited to education only, but also education, education and training, which means building society by fully preparing the university student.

Dr. Al-Khosht indicated that the university faculties had finished preparing plans for receiving new students from the first day of study, celebrating them, and introducing them to the study system, university facilities and history, with the participation of old students.
Cairo University faculties received old and new students after completing all arrangements and preparations for the start of the new academic year 2022-2023, which include the completion of maintenance work for buildings and facilities, the electricity system, sewage and fire, equipping the auditoriums, lecture halls, laboratories, libraries and medical clinics in faculties, and following up on periodic hygiene Inside the university campus, setting up directional boards, distributing lectures and announcing schedules for all academic teams, distributing students to departments and study divisions, providing all the quality elements required by the educational process from teaching aids to start and regular studies from the first day, in addition to insurance and protection work for the campus, and organizing The process of entry of individuals and cars to the campus and the camera system.

It is worth noting that the time map approved by the Supreme Council of Universities for the new academic year 2022-2023, in which the study begins in the first semester, Saturday, October 1, 2022, and lasts for 14 weeks, ending on January 5, 2023, after which exams will take place at the end of the first semester on January 9 and until 26 January 2023 according to the nature of study and exams in each faculty, and the mid-year vacation will be from Saturday, January 28, until Thursday, February 9, 2023, after which the second semester begins on February 11, 2023 for a period of 16 weeks, ending on Thursday, June 1, 2023, and the exams for the second semester are held within a month June 2023.
