 Praised by Media Experts... Outstanding Radio and Video projects at EMCCU Annual Graduation Projects Festival

    Over two days, the EMCCU annual graduation projects festival was held under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Hanan Gunaid, Dean of the Faculty of Mass Communication, Cairo University, and Prof. Dr. Salwa Al-Awadly, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, and under the supervision and organization of Prof. Dr. Nermin Nabil Al-Azraq, Head of the English Section, Prof. Dr. Samah Al-Mohammadi, Vice-Head of the English Section. 


    This year, the festival witnessed the presentation of a number of graduation projects for the video department, under the supervision of Dr. Dina Magdy and Dr. Reham Salah, which is a group of documentaries that discuss a number of issues, including:


    "Second Chance", This documentary movie tackles the concept of second chance, which many children and youth in Egypt may be deprived of because of being “orphans”. This documentary highlights and presents models of people and institutions who present a real second chance for themselves and others around, in order to spread this concept and break the stigma associated with orphans in society. This documentry was supervised by Director Hany Samir, and TA. Nada Ehab. 


    "From Faraway Lands", A documentary about the incoming students who are studying at Al- Azhar and its institutions. The documentary’s message is to highlight the importance of Al- Azhar as an ancient educational and religious institution. Also to highlight the efforts of Al- Azhar Al- Sharif in receiving those students and Providing amenities for them. This documentry was supervised by Director Naglaa Abdelkader, and TA. Lobna Ehab. 


    "A Soul’s Journey" is a short documentary made in 2023 by a group of students from Faculty of Mass Communication- English section at Cairo University. The film follows the journey of the main character, who undergoes spiritual experiences and practices that lead him to gain a new perspective on both himself and the world around him. While each person`s motivation for embarking on this journey may vary, be it religious, psychological, or personal, they are all united by a common goal - to "nourish the soul." This documentry was supervised by Director Naglaa Abdelkader, and TA. Petra Hany. 


    "Stranger in My Home", A documentary about the Third Culture Kids and their struggle to blend in with their own country after being raised and growing up in a different place. Their agony of not belonging to their hometown or any other place is brought through our documentary in a light tragic way to convey their feelings and to listen to their decision whether they will stay in their hometown country or they’ll get back to where they were raised. This documentry was supervised by Director Hany Samir, and TA. Sherry Essam.

    The festival for class 2023 witnessed the presentation of a number of graduation projects for the radio department, under the supervision of Dr. Gihan Abdel Hameed, and Mr. Mohamed Fouad, which is a group of radio programs that discuss a number of social issues, including:


    “Listen Up”, "One problem needs one word, a word that will change the whole life , LISTEN UP", under this slogan the project was concerned with the relationship between fathers and children and what each party needs from the other, it is the most important relationship and the basis for all human social relations.


    “Hand in Hand”, revolves around the value of volunteering and the importance of the participation of various segments of society in volunteering because of the goals it achieves that benefit the individual and society together, and to spread awareness of the importance of volunteering and its effects on youth and society to help create a better place to live in.


    “Young Blogger” aims to spread awareness among parents to protect their children from being used in the digital world, also the project dealt with children`s digital labor and their involvement in work on social media platforms and the theft of their childhood to work and profit and increase the number of followers, and how to benefit from these platforms.
