Signinig Cooperation Protocols between Cairo University and Journalists Syndicate in Service, Academic and Training Fields

    Dr. Mohamed Othman Elkhosht, President of Cairo University, and Mr. Khaled El-Balshi, Head of the Journalists Syndicate, signed two cooperation protocols between Cairo University and the Journalists Syndicate in the service, academic, and training fields, within the framework of the university’s keenness to enhance its service, development, and societal role and provide all aspects of support to the Journalists Syndicate.


    The protocol was signed at the headquarters of Cairo International University, in the presence of Prof. Dr. Ahmed Ragab, Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Hossam Salah, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine of Kasr Al-Aini, Dr. Hanan Gunaid, Dean of the Faculty of Mass Communication, Dr. Naglaa Raafat, Dean of the Faculty of Arts, and Dr. Mohamed Mansour Heiba, the university’s media advisor, and from the Journalists Syndicate, Mr. Mohamed Al-Jarhi, Assistant General Secretary of the Journalists Syndicate, and Mr. Mohamed Kamel, the journalist writer.


    Dr. El-Khosht explained that the first cooperation protocol takes place with Cairo University Hospitals, and aims to provide distinguished medical services to journalists and their families, and provide them with all facilities when they come forward to receive treatment through many procedures, and give them appropriate prices for medical services for critical illnesses and operations. 


    Dr. El-Khosht pointed out that the second cooperation protocol aims to provide educational and academic services and training programs available in the university’s faculties, in addition to the Journalists’ Syndicate providing training services to students of the Faculty of Mass Communication and journalism students at the university by opening the training center in the Syndicate’s building for them to obtain training courses and qualify them for the labor market, and providing a discount on courses designated for non-members, and organizing training programs that contribute to developing the capabilities of journalists and developing their professional and educational skills at reasonable prices and in coordination with the Training Committee of the Journalists Syndicate, in addition to preparing seminars and events in various cultural, medical, social, and legal fields.

    For his part, Mr. Khaled Al-Balshi, Head of the Journalists Syndicate, extended his great thanks to Dr. Mohamed El-Khosht for providing the permanent opportunity for effective communication between the university and the Syndicate, and providing all aspects of support to journalists, pointing out that Cairo University represents an important and great value for many professors and personalities in various fields.


    Mr. Khaled Al-Balshi said that the cooperation protocols signed with Cairo University represent great importance for the Journalists Syndicate, as they are linked to Cairo University, which is the most important educational institution in Egypt and the region, and open the door to continuous cultural and scientific cooperation with it at all times, and real scientific benefit through holding seminars and interacting with The Faculty of Mass Communication in many fields, allowing media professors and students a great deal of benefit, in addition to benefiting from the university’s expertise in opening the doors of discussion about national ideas that represent the future of Egypt.
