Dr. Soraya El-Badawy is the dean of the Faculty of Mass Communication at Cairo University. She is a professor of media, having obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in public relations and advertising from the Faculty of Mass Communication at Cairo University in 1987, then her Master of Arts degree in public relations and advertising in 1995, and her Ph.D. in the Department of Communication, Faculty of Social Sciences in 2003.

Dr. Soraya El-Badawy has been working in the field of education and research for over 30 years. She has held many administrative positions, including chair of the Department of Public Relations and Advertising at the Faculty of Mass Communication at Cairo University, acting director of the Center for Women`s Research and Studies, Faculty of Mass Communication, Cairo University, and academic deputy director of the Quality Unit.

She is a member of many international scientific organizations and has many published research papers in international peer-reviewed journals. She has received numerous awards, including the 2018 Best University Professor Award from the Arab Women`s Media Network.

Dr. Soraya El-Badawy is committed to developing the Faculty of Mass Communication at Cairo University to become one of the best media schools in the world. She focuses on developing students` skills in the field of digital media, promoting research in the field of media, and increasing international cooperation with other universities.
