Cairo University Champion: A Promising Star in Taekwondo

    EMCCY TODAY interviews the promising player who has won recently the Cairo University Championship

     Why did you choose taekwondo?


    -          I chose taekwondo because I was a very hyperactive child and I liked the idea of martial arts, so my father who was a taekwondo athlete recommended taekwondo for me


    Did your family support you? And what struggles did you face?


    -         My family has always been my biggest supporters my father who is always giving me advices for my matches because he was a professional taekwondo athlete and my mother who is always there for me to drive me to the training and to my competitions.


    -         Concerning my struggles, is how to balance between school, university and my everyday training, it was very exhausting but by time I knew how to balance between them, and injuries before nig competitions is the worst thing which made me play the national team qualifications with a broken finger but with the support of my family and my coaches made me able to overcome any struggles.


    Did you get any call from the Egyptian national team?


    -         I joined the junior national team at 2022.

    Tell us about your hardest tournament that you participated in?


    -         Fujairah open was the hardest competition for me specially because I played it after 2 days of losing in the arab championship which is considered easier than fujairah open but I decided to put all my effort to win fujairah open and I got the first place elhamdulila I will never forget when I played tough matches against jordan and emirate and uzbakistan national team.


    What are your future plans?


    -         My goal now is to join the Egyptian first national team and win the world championship and my major goal is to be an Olympic champion.
