Second Employment and Training Forum: Wide Attendance & Promising Launch

Under the patronage of Professor Mohamed Sami Abdel-Sadek, President of Cairo University, and Professor Thuraya Ahmed El-Badawy, Dean of the Faculty of Mass Communication, and with the support of Professor Mohamed Refaat, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development, and under the supervision of the Faculty`s Agency for Community Service and Environmental Development, headed by Professor Nashwa Akl, the Faculty of Mass Communication at Cairo University held the "Second Employment and Training Forum" from October 25 to 27, 2025.
The official opening of the forum was attended by Professor Dr. Mohamed Refaat, Vice President of Cairo University; Professor Dr. Nadia Zakhary, former Minister of Scientific Research; businessman Engineer Ahmed Tarek; media personality Reham El-Deeb, member of the National Media Committee; and Professor Dr. Mohamed Heiba, Media Advisor to Cairo University.
During the opening session, Professor Dr. Dean Thuraya Al-Badawi highlighted the forum`s objectives, which include connecting students and graduates with the job market, creating a database of graduates and their diverse skills, and providing them with career guidance through interaction with experts. Vice Dean Dr. Nashwa Aqel reviewed the outcomes of the first forum and the importance of career guidance and training before entering the job market.
The Vice President of the University commended the students and graduates of the college, emphasizing that media graduates` skills are now in demand across all business sectors. He added that he had personally interacted with students and graduates at several events and witnessed their seriousness, passion, and strong ambition for self-development.

Dr. Nadia Zakhary, for her part, praised the promising experience and the college`s openness to various sectors of the workforce. Businessman and engineer Ahmed Tarek praised the college`s initiative and offered advice and guidance to the students in the field of media entrepreneurship. He emphasized the importance of employing artificial intelligence technologies in various fields, particularly media, and engaged in an interactive dialogue with the students during his speech. Media personality Reham El-Deeb also expressed her delight at the National Media Authority`s success in employing a large number of the college`s students and graduates during the summer, noting that some of them continued working at the building. The partners in the success of the first edition were honored for hosting students and graduates in extended summer training, as well as providing paid internships and employment opportunities. Those honored included Professors Osama Radi, Head of Nile News Channel; Manal El-Deftar, Head of Channel One; Abdel Rahman Bassiouni, Head of Voice of the Arabs Network; Omaima Shukri, Head of the Radio Sector at United Media Services and Head of Radio Egypt Station; Haitham El-Sawy, Director of Development at Al-Ghad Channel; Mohamed El-Hamrawi, Director of Al-Ghad Channel`s Cairo Office; Nadim Khaled, Founder of Evolution Media Production Company; Sherif Helal, Director of MBC Egypt; the renowned artistic producer Amr Qoura, Founder of Lab Story Company; Samir Omar, Head of the News Sector at United Media Services; Adi Ibrahim, Editor-in-Chief of Cairo 24; Sami Abdel-Radi, Editor-in-Chief of Telegraph Egypt; Hassanein Abdel-Rabou, Editor-in-Chief of Al-Borsa Newspaper; and Mohamed Tantawi, Editor-in-Chief of EgyN.
The forum`s activities commenced with a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by a large number of students and recent graduates from the college and other faculties of the university, in addition to representatives from training and media institutions and experts. Human resources and marketing departments from several companies, including Vodafone Egypt, The Bros, and Nokia, participated in the event.
Numerous media outlets, newspapers, and satellite channels also took part, including Al-Ahram Weekly, Al-Borsa, Telegraph Egypt, Cairo 24, EGY IN, Nile News Channel, Al-Ghad Channel, Sada El-Balad, MBC Egypt, Nile International, Nile News, Radio Egypt, Sawt Al-Arab, Modern, Al-Nahar, and the National Media Authority with its various sectors, in addition to audio production companies such as O2 Media and EVOLUTION.

Several companies and banks participated in the forum and praised the high level of organization, the richness of the topics presented for career guidance on stage, and the media coverage of the forum`s events. They also offered numerous job opportunities through their respective channels in the fields of public relations, content creation, social media management, and marketing.
