Free Visits to Abdel Halim Hafez’s House in Zamalek

In a move that excited thousands of fans, the family of legendary Egyptian singer Abdel Halim Hafez has officially opened free bookings to visit his house in Zamalek. The announcement came alongside the launch of the new website halimhouse.com, created to organize visits and offer a closer look into the life of the iconic “El Andaleeb.” The decision was widely welcomed, especially by younger generations who only knew Halim through old videos and recordings and now have the chance to experience his world in a more personal, tangible way .
According to the family, visits are available free of charge, every day except Wednesdays and Fridays, starting from March 30, 2026, which marks the anniversary of Abdel Halim’s passing. Visitors can secure their spot online without any fees or special requirements, making the initiative accessible to fans from all backgrounds. The family emphasized that the goal is to keep Halim’s memory alive and open the doors of the house to everyone, not just researchers or industry professionals.
The new website doesn’t only allow booking a physical visit; it also offers
a virtual tour of the house. Through this feature, visitors can explore Halim’s memories, childhood keepsakes, handwritten notes, rare photographs, and many personal belongings that have never been displayed publicly before. Each room tells a different part of his story, from his early struggles to his rise as one of the Arab world`s most beloved performers. The layout of the house has been carefully preserved to reflect the atmosphere Halim lived in, giving visitors the feeling of stepping directly into his daily life.
.
The project also aims to preserve the artistic and historical value of Abdel Halim’s home. There are ongoing efforts to register the house with UNESCO as one of the culturally significant heritage sites linked to major artistic figures in the region. If approved, it would become one of the few homes of Arab artists to gain such international recognition—a step that could encourage similar initiatives for other cultural icons.
After the visit, guests are encouraged to leave a review through Google Maps or share their impressions through the website, helping support the initiative and increase global awareness of Halim’s legacy. Many early visitors have already expressed how emotional the experience was, describing the house as a place where time seems to pause.
More details and booking instructions are available on halimhouse.com and on the official Instagram page @abdelhalim_hafez_house.
