Cairo University International Branch Hosts "Restart My Media Journey" to Enhance Students’ Media Skills

    Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Mohamed Sami Abdel Sadeq, President of Cairo University, and under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Heba Noh, Assistant to the University President for International Branch Affairs, and Prof. Dr. Wessam Nasr, Dean of the Faculty of Mass Communication, and in coordination with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Marwa Mahmoud Abdallah, Academic Supervisor of the Faculty of Mass Communication at the International Branch, and Dr. Sara Mahmoud Khater, Coordinator of the English Media Program at the International Branch, the International Branch of Cairo University hosted the "Restart My Media Journey" event.


    The event began with the national anthem, followed by the Faculty of Mass Communication students presenting the ceremony. Prof. Dr. Wessam Nasr then delivered a speech welcoming the students and guests, encouraging them to focus on preparing for their professional future. She highlighted a series of workshops and courses planned for the International Branch students and emphasized the importance of their participation in the various activities organized by the faculty.


    Prof. Dr. Heba Noh also welcomed the attendees and guests, noting the significance of events at the International Branch that aim to develop students’ skills outside the lecture halls. She emphasized the particular importance of the seminar, which allows students to learn from experts rather than relying solely on theoretical knowledge.


    The program included a speech by Prof. Dr. Abdel Hadi El Awady, in which he discussed the relationship between media and law and proposed organizing a seminar that combines both fields.

    At the beginning of the seminar, Prof. Dr. Wessam Nasr honored the guests by presenting them with commemorative plaques. Dr. Marwa moderated the seminar, which began with Ms. Hagar Jamil’s talk titled “The World of Radio: How to Master Its Tools”, in which she engaged students in a discussion about their interest in radio. A discussion also took place between her and Mr. Eyad Saleh on the importance of radio and drama in bridging the generational gap, with the audience participating in exchanging opinions. Ms. Hagar concluded her talk by stressing that the components of success differ from person to person, and that students should work on developing their skills in the field they aspire to work in.


    Mr. Eyad Saleh then delivered his talk titled “How a Story Becomes a Cinematic Film”, explaining the origins of storytelling and its historical roots, the stages of drama development through the ages, and the differences between novel writing and screenplay writing. He concluded his talk by offering several tips to students on how to write a successful series.

    Prof. Dr. Abdel Hadi El Awady participated in the discussion, commenting on the points raised by the guests. He emphasized the importance of ideas reflecting the personal signature of their owner, distinguishing between ideas and their legal expression, and raised the issue of using artificial intelligence in the core work of screenwriters and the limits of such use.


    The seminar concluded with a group photo session with the guests in a celebratory atmosphere characterized by constructive dialogue and knowledge exchange.
