Cairo University Launches "Athar" Platform, Inviting Students to Leave a Real Mark Within the Campus and Beyond

    President of Cairo University, addressing every student: "Join `Athar`... start your journey now, and be the impact that makes a difference in your future and your community."


    In a qualitative step reflecting Cairo University`s vision to build an active and influential generation, the university announced the official launch of the first operational phase of the "Athar" (Impact) platform. This interactive digital platform aims to empower students to participate positively in various academic and community activities, transforming this participation into a tangible value recorded in their university journey.


    The university extends an open invitation to all its students to engage effectively in the platform’s activities, which provide diverse opportunities in the fields of volunteering, entrepreneurship, skill development, and cultural and creative activities. This initiative contributes to building a well-rounded student personality that combines academic excellence with the ability to make a social impact.


    Dr. Mohamed Sami Abdel Sadek, President of the University, emphasized that the launch of the "Athar" platform represents a genuine shift in the philosophy of university education. He noted that the platform is not merely a digital tool but the nucleus of an ambitious national project originating from Cairo University, applicable across various Egyptian universities. This contributes to a qualitative leap in youth participation in community service and strengthens their role as active partners in building the future.


    Dr. Abdel Sadek added that the university will announce, before the end of the 2025/2026 academic year, a list of the most distinguished and active students on the platform. This will be a prelude to honoring them in a major official ceremony, where they will be awarded certificates of appreciation and special prizes in recognition of their efforts and initiatives that embody the spirit of responsibility.


    The University President explained that the current phase serves as an experimental operational stage, allowing students to explore its potential and participate in its activities freely. However, "Athar" points will become a mandatory graduation requirement for new university students starting from the 2026/2027 academic year, as part of a strategic direction linking education with actual participation in community development.

    In a related context, the university administration expressed its sincere appreciation to the partner organizations that contributed to supporting and launching the platform, affirming that this cooperation embodies a successful model of integration between academic institutions and various development partners.


    Furthermore, Cairo University invited civil society organizations, companies, and developmental bodies to join the "Athar" platform and participate in providing qualitative opportunities and activities for students, thereby enhancing their role in preparing youth cadres capable of giving and competing.


    The university affirms that the "Athar" platform represents the beginning of an extended path toward a modern university that values participation, rewards initiative, and grants its students a real opportunity to create a positive and sustainable impact.
