AI, Fact-Checking, and Global Icons: Cairo University Media Students Master Content Creation for Digital Platforms

Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Wesam Nasr, Dean of the Faculty of Mass Communication at Cairo University, and the general supervision of Dr. Hala El-Sayed, Director of Professional Diploma Programs, master’s students specializing in Television Production have unveiled a series of sophisticated digital projects.
Developed within the "Digital Platforms" course, the works were produced under the academic guidance of Dr. Radwa Abdel Latif and coordinated by Mr. Ahmed Rahma. These projects demonstrate the students` ability to craft professional content tailored specifically for the unique audiences of Facebook, TikTok, and Instagram.
Combatting Misinformation and Strengthening Credibility
Addressing the critical issue of media ethics, student Mohamed El-Shimy produced a fact-checking video investigating rumors surrounding global political events. The project emphasizes the importance of verifying sources before sharing content on Facebook, reflecting a high level of professional responsibility in an era of rapid digital rumors.

Innovative Storytelling and AI Integration
In a move toward the future of media, Doaa Mahmoud Hammam utilized Artificial Intelligence (AI) techniques to produce a specialized video for TikTok. The content offers social guidance on how to communicate financial crises to children, showcasing how modern technology can be used to address sensitive societal issues with a contemporary aesthetic.
Economics and Social Empowerment
Focusing on simplified data visualization, student Mai Mohamed created a high-quality infographic video centered on economics and women`s empowerment. Designed for Facebook, the project highlights the students` skill in using visual tools to make complex social and economic issues accessible and engaging for the general public.
Sports Media and Global Stars
The sports world was also represented through the work of Ahmed Osama, who produced a dynamic video regarding football star Wessam Abou Ali’s return to Al Ahly SC. Similarly, Nour Shaban developed a professional multi-platform feature on Egyptian icon Mohamed Salah, effectively utilizing the specific technical styles required for TikTok, Facebook, and Instagram to maximize audience engagement.
These projects underscore the Faculty of Mass Communication’s commitment to keeping pace with the latest media trends, ensuring that graduates are not only journalists but skilled content creators ready for the global digital landscape.
