As a project for a second-year mass communication student at Cairo University, in the Manial neighborhood where the Al-Ahlawya Cafe is located, we went to meet Haj Gamal, the cafe`s owner, and he told us about its history and heritage, and how it was the first destination for players as his regular customers

 Hajj Gamal says, "My father opened the coffee shop in 1948, and after his death, we continued the journey. The coffee shop is almost at its centenary, God willing

He continues "My whole life has been spent at the coffee shop. .

He pointed out ,hajj gamal said my favorite match was the cup match against Zamalek in 1978. Al-Ahly beat Zamalek after coming back from a deficit to win 4-2, with Gamal Abdel Hamid scoring the fourth goal

 He added " Captain Yakan, Captain Hassan Hamdy, and Captain Maher Hammam were regular customers of the coffee shop."
