The Minister of Higher Education decided to coordinate with all parties to confirm Egypt’s leading role and noted the implementation of several initiatives through the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology, Egyptian universities and research centers, and the Science, Technology and Innovation Financing Authority to deal with climate change issues as one of the goals of the state’s sustainable development plan that the ministry is working on achieving them, as well as supporting applied scientific research to find practical innovative solutions; To confront the effects, risks and potential threats that follow climate change. The Minister also stressed the importance of activating the initiatives that were put forward, disseminating the successful experiences already carried out by many Egyptian universities, and coordinating between them to ensure non-repetition, praising the excellence of the efforts made by universities and research centers in this context.

The American University Participates in the Conference

The American University in Cairo will participate in the Sharm El-Sheikh Climate Conference, with a team of 85 professors and researchers, and 35 students and employees from the university, from November 6 to 18, in a pavilion in the Green Zone through the university, research, initiatives and activities related to climate change and sustainability in a 100-meter pavilion in the conference. The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Cairo University, under the patronage of the President of the University, Dr. Mohamed Othman Elkhosht, held its eighth international conference entitled “Egypt’s vision for COP27: The role of animal health in the Egyptian national commitments related to climate” in cooperation with the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology and the National Company for Animal Production, With the participation of the FAO, the Agency for the Protection of Fisheries and Lake Development, the Central Administration of Zoos, and the General Authority for Veterinary Services, with the participation of about 600 faculty members and researchers from various universities and research centers at the level of the Republic, along with 300 students from various Egyptian groups
