Decision by the President of Cairo University
Professor Dr. Amal El-Sayed Appointed Head of the Department of Journalism and Digital Media

The Faculty of Mass Communication at Cairo University extends its sincere congratulations to Professor Dr. Amal El-Sayed Ahmed Metwally Deraz on the issuance of a decision by Professor Dr. Mohamed Sami Abdel-Sadek, President of Cairo University, appointing her as Head of the Department of Journalism and Digital Media at the Faculty.

Professor Dr. Amal El-Sayed is regarded as one of the distinguished academic figures in the Department of Journalism. She has a strong and well-established research record in journalism and media studies, in addition to her extensive experience in teaching, academic supervision, and active participation in developing the educational process at the Faculty and serving the university community. She has also previously served as the Academic Coordinator of the Faculty of Mass Communication program at Cairo University’s International Branch.

This decision comes within the framework of supporting the academic system and strengthening leadership capable of enhancing institutional performance, in line with Cairo University’s vision and its transformation toward fourth-generation universities.
