Cairo University received His Excellency French President Emmanuel Macron this evening, as part of the Egyptian-French Universities Forum, with some of the forum`s events hosted on the university campus.

In his speech delivered at the Grand Celebration Hall, President Macron expressed his deep appreciation for the historical ties between Egypt and France. He emphasized that youth and innovation are the keys to a shared future between the two countries and praised Cairo University for its leading role as a prestigious educational institution in the region.

The French President’s visit was preceded by the signing of several cooperation agreements and memoranda of understanding between Egyptian and French universities. These agreements aim to strengthen academic partnerships, promote student and researcher exchanges, support innovation, and link education with the labor market. Notable among them are cooperation protocols between Cairo University and renowned French institutions such as Sorbonne University, Aix-Marseille University, and the National Institute in Lyon, among others.

Dr. Mohamed Sami Abdel Sadek described the visit as a historic milestone in the university`s journey, affirming that Egyptian-French cooperation in the fields of education and scientific research remains a model to follow in international relations.

This visit reaffirms the commitment of both countries to expanding bilateral cooperation in higher education and scientific research, in ways that support sustainable development and benefit future generations.
