Within the framework of the activities of the Cairo International Technology Conference and Exhibition, which is being held under the auspices of Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, during the period from 27 to 30 November, Dr. Ayman Ashour presented a report on the Ministry`s participation in several technological competitions in many specialized fields that are held during the conference and exhibition activities.
Dr. Hisham Farouk, Assistant Minister for Digital Transformation, referred to the ministry`s participation in the "Cyber Security" competition, explaining that the competition aims to introduce the basics of how to prevent cyber attacks from occurring at the individual level and awareness of how to avoid them, indicating that a distinguished prize will be presented to the first winner.

Dr. Hisham Farouk, explained that the competition for digital transformation outputs for master`s and doctoral degree holders; It aims to encourage scientific research in Egypt, link the academic scientific research of young Egyptian researchers with society, encourage young people to scientific research and innovation, communicate new ideas to investors to adopt and apply the best ones, and strengthen the role of the Ministry through direct contact with young researchers and support them. In this competition, the best master’s or doctoral dissertation awarded by Egyptian public and private universities and others in the field of digital transformation will be chosen, including a project that can be actually applied in society, provided that the first prize is 35 thousand pounds, the second 25 thousand pounds, and the third 15 thousand pounds.
The Assistant Minister for Digital Transformation pointed out that the Ministry also participated in the University Electronic Games Championship. Which aims to showcase the new technology in designing virtual worlds using Microsoft solutions for Minecraft educational games through interactive activities with the attendees; To produce a simple virtual world for a smart university, where a special prize will be presented to the first winner.
For his part, Dr. Adel Abdel Ghaffar, media advisor and spokesperson for the Ministry, referred to the participation of the Ministry of Higher Education in the University Innovation Competition. The competition provides teams of students who have developed prototypes in all fields the opportunity to compete for prizes to help develop the next step of the project, adding that the competition is open to all universities. The competition requires that only Egyptian students develop the project, and the value of the first prize is 50,000 pounds, the second is 35,000 pounds, and the third is 15,000 pounds.

The official spokesperson for the ministry added that the competitions include the emerging projects competition, and among the judging criteria in that competition: innovation, scalability, financial and technical sustainability, and the value of the first prize is 50,000 pounds, the second is 35,000 pounds, and the third is 15,000 pounds.
The spokesperson stated that the ministry participated in the Egyptian Games Development Competition. With the aim of competing and displaying students’ creative and innovative capabilities in the field of designing and developing games, all games submitted for the competition will be reviewed by at least two academic professors or specialists in the field of the games industry, adding that deserving projects will win valuable prizes to develop their games later and display them in the games pavilion at the Cairo exhibition. ICT 2022, and the value of the first prize is 35,000 pounds, the second is 25,000 pounds, and the third is 15,000 pounds.
