The website won the prize in the category of electronic newspapers.
Dr. Nermin Al-Azraq, Head of the English Section, expressed her great happiness that the website won an award within Al-Shorouk Festival as one of the most important and best training news websites for students under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Hanan Gunaid, Dean of the Faculty, and that the website of the English Section of Mass Communication Cairo University succeeded within less than 3 months of launching to achieve a great achievement with EMCCU Today winning the award among Egyptian and Arab universities. .

Dr. Hani Muhammad Ali, editor-in-chief of the website, said that this award comes to culminate the efforts of continuous and diligent work on the website of the English Section, and expressed his thanks to Dr. Hanan Junaid, Dean of the Faculty for her continuous support, and Dr. Nermin Al-Azraq, Head of the English Section, and Dr. Samah Al-Muhammadi, Vice Head of the Section, and the teaching assistants supervising the website. It is noteworthy that the seventh session of Al-Shorouk Festival for student creativity this year, witnessed competition between 44 universities participated in the festival, including 16 Egyptian public universities, 19 private Egyptian universities, and 9 Arab universities, and the number of participating projects reached 196 creative works of mass communication students. .
