    Cairo University participates in the activities of the Cairo International Innovation Fair in its seventh edition, which is organized by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, under the auspices of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, and the supervision of Dr. Mohamed Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and Dr. Mahmoud Saqr, President of the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology, on the 13th. and February 14 in the New Administrative Capital.

    Cairo University President Mohamed Othman Elkhosht explained that the university`s participation in the 7th Cairo International Innovation Fair includes several activities, as it participates in 25 innovative and research projects in the fields of agriculture, science, engineering, artificial intelligence, lasers, entrepreneurship and pharmaceutical manufacturing.

    Dr. Mohamed El-Khosht stressed Cairo University’s keenness to delve into the field of innovation, to develop its educational programs to become more dependent on the use of modern technologies in sharing knowledge, and to present the approved concept of innovation in higher education, which contributes to the provision of high-quality education, and enables students to possess a set of The skills, knowledge and experience most closely related to innovation that enable them to meet the requirements of the labor market and the national and global economic challenges.

    Dr. Muhammad Al-Khosht added that the university participates in the field of agriculture with 3 projects: a project to use sustainable green innovation technologies to convert organic waste into products of high economic value: as a promising solution to increase the national economy, and a project to convert rice and barley straw into ultrafine zeolite granules as a soil fertilizer. And plants, and the meat alternatives project in light of global environmental changes.

    The university also participates in the field of entrepreneurship, with 5 projects: a market and platform for e-commerce for electrical appliances, an outlet that connects merchants with customers in an easy way, an educational platform for teaching the Arabic language to children from 3 to 6 years old through the Egyptian dialect, and an application that encourages saving water. And a project to manufacture environmental bricks to help shape building facades with ceramic specifications, and a project for locally produced feed additives to bridge the deficit in poultry production.

    It also contributes in the field of computers and artificial intelligence with two projects, the first is a telephone for the deaf and mute, and the other is a smart medical stethoscope. The College of Engineering’s participation includes 5 projects: a wastewater treatment project using anaerobic membrane reactors (Anaerobic MBR) for safe use in irrigation, an integrated cloud platform for monitoring pests, salinity and effective irrigation in precision cultivation of olives, and a hexagonal drone with high capacity and ease of control. , a high-flying range aerial inspection and control drone, and a fuel-saving single-seater smart car prototype project.

    It participates in laser science with 5 innovative projects: a simulator for training in the use of medical lasers in dermatology, a naked-eye color sensor for toxic gases, a project for manufacturing smart ceramics that are resistant to bacteria, a project for luminous luminescence for coated paper: writing in the dark, and a project for manufacturing papers. Coated with nano-inks to produce secure, tamper-proof documents. The College of Pharmacy also contributes, through the pharmaceutical manufacturing unit, to the creation of many preparations, such as the antiseptic alcoholic gel that contains volatile oils that contribute to reducing skin dryness caused by alcohol, and the creation of a hair shampoo fortified with aloe vera gel and panthenol.

    It participates in the field of basic science, with 4 projects: a project to convert rice and barley straw into ultrafine zeolite granules as a fertilizer for soil and plants, filtering tap water using carboxymethyl chitosan extracted environmentally friendly from shrimp by-products, and developing new techniques to know the nature of living tissue and the difference between natural tissue And cancerous in the treatment and diagnosis of cancer diseases, and an educational, educational and geotourism platform for students of different stages of pre-university and university education. .
