Head of the training staff for the Egyptian national karate team for people of determination: We succeeded in establishing a team for the game of people with abilities before the game was included internationally... and we are proud of our international achievements

The Egyptian Karate team for People of Determination has successfully won the World Championship in 2023, having previously achieved the same title in 2021.

we meet today with the Head of the Team Selection Committee for People of Determination to talk about these achievements and his technical vision for the coming period.

Captain Mohamed Ramadan says at the beginning of his talk, "The team for People of Determination started in 2014, and before that, we held a Republic Championship for this category in 2010, before the International Federation included these sports. We held the Republic Championship in the following two years 2011 and 2012, and at the beginning of 2013, we received an email from the International Federation urging us to hold tournaments for people of determination on the sidelines of the World Karate Championships. From here, the President of the Egyptian Federation at the time contacted me to choose elements to form the Egyptian team for People of Determination in the sport of karate, and they were indeed chosen from the Republic Championship that was held at the Cairo Stadium in 2013."

The Egyptian team for People of Determination in Karate has achieved several championships, including achieving second place in the overall ranking at the World Championship in Spain in 2018 by winning four different medals. In 2021, the team won first place in the overall ranking at the World Championship held in Dubai, and it achieved the same position in 2023 at the World Championship, which was well prepared for through a camp held for the team in Ismailia, and another camp at the Olympic Center for training national teams in Maadi, with the assistance of the team`s technical staff consisting of Captain Mohamed Fouad, the technical director, and the coaches Captain Wael Abdullah, Captain Mohamed Akkari, and Captain Mohamed Mahmoud.

Ramadan praises the amazing technical development witnessed in these sports for the category of People of Determination; as competition has become fierce in various tournaments, and different countries are keen to train their players to win medals and advanced positions, which appeared in the last World Championship, which Egypt won its title amidst fierce competition from great countries in combat sports such as Japan and Spain.

The players are considered "Abdel Aziz Assem, one of the most distinguished players in the category of motor disabilities, Ahmed Wahid, and Salma Wahid, one of the most prominent players in achieving results in intellectual disabilities, in addition to the player Nadine Youssef in the same category, and the players Rowan Khalil and Marwa Ahmed in the category of visual impairment. In addition to the players Hazem Mohamed in Mental Men, Mustafa Abu Al-Futooh in intellectual movement men, Adel Shabab in movement men."

The Head of the Team Selection Committee for People with Special Needs reveals the difficulty of training people with disabilities in the sport of karate, but there are specialized coaches who have experience in this field, and he does not forget to mention the role of Captain Hisham Mansi, may God have mercy on him, in establishing and training national teams for people with disabilities and training them in the sport of karate. He praises the great support provided by the Egyptian Karate Federation in providing camps, clothing, and nutrition to qualify Egyptian players capable of competing in various tournaments
